All products are handmade from scratch and therefore, slight imperfections ARE expected. I will never send out a product that is not up to my standards.
Processing time is 2-3 business days. This is not shipping time. Please add processing time to your shipment time to get the most accurate idea of when your goods will arrive to your home. :) All emails will also be answered within 2-3 business days.
Once a package is in the hands of USPS/UPS we are no longer responsible for any loss or damage. That means no replacements will be made for loss due to a carrier.
Appalachian Jules does not accept returns or offer replacements at this time.
The purchaser IS responsible for proper use of Appalachian Jules products.
Never leave a candle burning out of sight and never have your candle on or near a flammable surface or item. Candles are not meant to burn for more than four hours at a time.
Trim your candle wick. We have formulated a candle care guide to be found on the home page under blog posts. You can learn more about how to care for your candle through our social media pages.
Keep all soaps and candles out of reach of children and animals. We highly recommend you do not purchase our products if you have any fragrance allergies or skin sensitivities and to always consult your doctor prior to use.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
Q: Do you only use essential oils to scent and fragrance your products?
A: Most of my scents (both candles & soaps) are essential oil and CLEAN fragrance oil blends. Products that are scented solely with essential oils will be / are noted on that particular product's description. We also have a collection labeled "pure essentials" to display products that are fragranced solely by essential oils.
However, it is important to note that CLEAN fragrance oils mean that they are completely free of phthalates, carcinogens and other reproductive disrupting chemicals. Often when customers ask if my scents are purely essential oils, it is because they are concerned about toxic chemicals making their way into their homes.
I care deeply about sustainably as well as the well-being of all of my customers and would never use any harmful ingredient as this goes against all that I believe in. Having natural products in homes that uplift the power of nature is the philosophy behind Appalachian Jules.
My supplier of clean fragrance oils states this on their website:
"Our standards are rigorous, and they exclude many materials that are ubiquitous in other suppliers’ fragrance oils. You may already be familiar with our exclusion of phthalates, but we also exclude materials with similar health concerns, including those on California’s Prop 65 list. Materials known to be carcinogens in California aren’t any safer elsewhere! And if you’re a business outside of CA but selling handmade products online, your products will likely be bought within the state. With our Clean Scents, you don’t need to worry if these fragrances are safe for your home."

Q: Is your palm oil ethically and sustainably sourced?
A: Absolutely! I care deeply for our environmental world and all the creatures on our lovely planet. Our sustainable palm oil comes from a supplier that's part of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.
Q: Are your products vegan?
A: Yes! All of our suppliers and supplies obtained from them are 100% vegan.
Q: I went on the website and all the products say sold out, how do I order?
A: We do restock typically twice a month (day varies). The restock information will always be listed on our Instagram: @appalachianjules and Facebook: Appalachian Jules.
Q: I had products in my cart and when I went to checkout, they said “Sold Out.” Why is that?
A: This is a way that Shopify protects the seller, so even if an item is in your cart, it is not yours until checkout is completed with a form of payment.
Q: I got an email that my package has shipped, why does my tracking still say “in pre shipment?”
A: Often, USPS can take a few days to update, especially if it was sent out prior to the weekend and/or during the holidays! We recommend waiting 4-5 days and if your order remains stagnant, please reach out to us or USPS!
Q: I have not received any status or update on my order, what is going on?
A: Shopify can only send shipment notifications via email. If there was no email put down, you will not receive tracking/shipment updates. You only receive a shipping notification once your item is getting ready to ship. Please check our processing times for info on when you should receive shipping confirmations.
